Meet Gina. After her own breast cancer diagnosis at 43, she wanted to be involved in the wear it pink campaign to help raise awareness and offer support.
About me
I come from a showman family, which is basically a fairground life. I’ve been happily married for 22 years and have 4 amazing children. I’m a professional photographer with my main subjects being weddings.
My hobbies are shopping, walking, yoga and solo coffee dates. I’m interested in fashion, photography, and documentaries. I’d describe myself as friendly, confident and happy, and I love life.
Leanne Hainsby inspires me. I listened to her story recently on a podcast and it really touched me.
Breast cancer has impacted my life drastically
I have a more positive outlook and make myself more present in the moment. But in those moments, I sometimes feel the fear of cancer returning. I miss the days I didn’t have these worries.
It was nice to be in front of the camera for a change
I wanted to be involved in the Breast Cancer Now campaign to help raise awareness and offer support where I can. It felt uplifting to be part of the wear it pink photoshoot, and if my story helps just one person, then it was worth the time and effort.
I think it’s important to wear it pink
My advice for a pink event would be to come together, share stories, have fun and inspire each other. And make sure to wear pink. Wearing pink symbolises the campaign and what we’re trying to achieve, like funding life-changing support and research for people affected by breast cancer.
Wear it pink like Gina
Whether it’s a dash of nail varnish or you’re in hot pink head-to-toe, wear pink this October and raise vital funds to help support people affected by breast cancer.
