From knitting to swimming, baking to painting, or cycling to candle making, there are so many ways to turn the thing you love doing into a wear it pink event.
Ali's pink tennis
After my own diagnosis of breast cancer in 2019, I was keen to fundraise for Breast Cancer Now. I thought a fun way to do this would be to incorporate my love for tennis into the event. Every week, I get together with other women interested in tennis, to train, have a laugh, drink tea and catch up. Turning one of these get-togethers into a wear it pink event felt so simple and brilliant. All the ladies wore pink for the meet up and we held a raffle whilst having tea and cake.
Debbie’s passion is fashion
In 2021, I decided to hold my first wear it pink fashion show at my boutique. It was so great that in 2022 I did it all again, this year adding in a wheel for the tombola to increase the drama. The fashion show was a huge success – local businesses donated prizes, the local MP came along, and everyone had so much fun.
Working in retail gave me the opportunity to reach out to customers as well as friends and family, and to draw in a crowd. I was also able to put posters up in the changing rooms of my boutique encouraging people to check themselves, which is so important.
Do you have a passion you could turn pink this October?
