Gift Aid is a brilliant way of increasing the value of your donation at no extra cost to you. All you have to do is check if you’re eligible, give us your permission and we’ll do the rest.
How can you help us raise even more money?
Gift Aid allows us to claim back the basic tax paid on donations by eligible donors, so we get an extra 25p for every £1 donated. Boosting the donation by 25% without spending another penny – amazing, right? The donor must be a UK taxpayer and if they pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all of their donations in that tax year it is their responsibility to pay any difference.
How can Breast Cancer Now claim this extra money?
- Use the Gift Aid form in your fundraising pack or download or order a form from our website. Place this next to your collection box at your event.
- Encourage everyone who donates to fill out the Gift Aid form if they’re eligible. It's quick and simple – all we need is the donor’s full name, address, postcode (home addresses only please), gift amount and gift date, and they’re done. Most importantly, make sure your guests tick the Gift Aid box, otherwise Breast Cancer Now can’t claim the extra cash.
- Pop the form in the post to Breast Cancer Now, Fifth Floor, Ibex House, 42-47 Minories, London EC3N 1DY or email us a photo at wearitpink@breastcancernow.org.
Please note that we can’t claim Gift Aid if your guests are paying for a raffle, an auction, or if there’s a fixed price in return for goods, such as cakes at a bake sale. If you’d like to raise money through baked goods, you can suggest a donation instead of charging a set price and we’re able to claim Gift Aid on the voluntary donation.
