How to create and use a QR code

Creating and using a QR code (aka quick response code) gives people access to your JustGiving page, without them having to type in the URL.

Why use a QR code?

QR codes are a quick way to direct people to your JustGiving page and make cashless donations that bit easier. You can print them on posters to display at your wear it pink events, or on a collection box if people don't have cash.

How do QR Codes work?

You can scan a QR code with the camera on your phone. It takes you to a web page, such as your own JustGiving page. On most phones, you can simply open the camera and point it at the QR code. Wait a couple of seconds and it should pop up with the link to the page.

How do I create a QR Code?

Creating your own QR Code is easy! There are two ways you can do this.

Firstly, if your JustGiving page URL starts with ‘www.justgiving.com/fundraising/’:

Simply add '/qrcode' to the end of your JustGiving page link, then pop the whole link in your web search bar and press enter.

For example, if your page was www.justgiving.com/fundraising/MrsFundraiser, your link would be www.justgiving.com/fundraising/MrsFundraiser/qrcode.

When you click enter in the search bar, your QR code will then appear. You can then save this as an image, by right-clicking and selecting ‘save image as’. Or if you’re doing this on your phone, screenshot the image and it will appear in your photos.

Secondly, if your JustGiving page URL starts with ‘www.justgiving.com/page/’:

  1. Log in to JustGiving and go to your page
  2. Click ‘Edit your page’ in the top-left corner of your screen
  3. Click on the ‘Share’ tab on the left of your screen
  4. Select the QR symbol (the last symbol on the right, next to the email symbol)

Once you have got your QR Code, you can share this on your social media or print it out and stick it up at your event!
