Why hold an Afternoon Tea?

How you can bake a difference

Every year, thousands of amazing people dust off their whisks, stick the kettle on and hold an Afternoon Tea to raise money for Breast Cancer Now. By taking part, you’ll be raising money to help us drive forward our life-saving research and give vital support.

How your support helps

Fund world-class research

At Breast Cancer Now, we focus our world-class research entirely on breast cancer. By funding over 310 of the brightest minds in research across the UK and Ireland, we’re discovering how we can prevent breast cancer, save lives, and live well with the disease.

To date, we’ve invested over £284 million in breast cancer research, and we’re not about to stop. Right now, we’re funding around 80 cutting-edge projects worth over £27 million. Around 20% of this research focuses on secondary breast cancer.

Find out more about our research, including what we’ve achieved so far, and how we’re targeting secondary breast cancer.

Provide life-changing support

We want to be there for everyone affected by breast cancer, every step of the way. From giving someone much-needed reassurance on our helpline, to peer support through our support groups, we’re dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by breast cancer - now and for generations to come.

Last year, our nurses answered 11,155 calls on our helpline, giving information and support to anyone affected by breast cancer. 1,253 people used Someone Like Me to find someone who understands what they’re going through. By taking part in Afternoon Tea, you can help raise the money we need to keep these vital support services going.

Make change happen together

Thanks to our amazing supporters, our campaigns are making things better for people living with or affected by breast cancer. Through our campaigns, we’ve highlighted issues affecting people with breast cancer. We've secured drugs such as Trodelvy and Olaparib in the UK, and we've made sure the voices of people affected by breast cancer are being heard.

Find out more about getting involved in our campaigns. Just a few minutes of your time could make a real difference.

Ready to be a life-changer?

Our goal at Breast Cancer Now is that by 2050, everyone diagnosed with breast cancer will live, and be supported to live well. By holding an Afternoon Tea this summer, you could help to make that goal a reality. We can’t thank you enough.
