Hello and pleased to 'meet' you! I was 48 when I was diagnosed. I had initially found the lump and due to being so busy travelling with work, left it a couple of weeks before going to see my GP.

I assumed the lump would turn out to be benign and was stunned to be told I had breast cancer. The cancer was in my left breast and was a grade 2. I had a wide local excision and 6 weeks of radiotherapy. Luckily, my sentinel nodes were clear. I experimented with Tamoxifen and Letrozole, but reacted badly to both. I now take Exemestane daily and have a Zoladex injection each month.

Sadly, soon after my radiotherapy finished, I separated from my husband, which added to the devastation and confusion. I run my own business and throwing myself into work has been a real lifeline, in addition to having great family and friends.

I appreciate the turmoil breast cancer brings and would be delighted to support where I can. I have been a Someone Like Me volunteer since 2017 and consider it a privilege.
