Anita

Bio
Following her first routine mammogram, Anita was shocked when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Like a lot of people, Anita never thought it would happen to her. She is happy to hear from anyone who has just been diagnosed, going through treatment or is trying to move on with their life after cancer.
Treatments:
  • Chemotherapy
  • Radiotherapy
  • Bisphosphonates
  • Lumpectomy
  • Hormone therapy

I was aged 52 in November 2015 when I was diagnosed with Breast cancer following a recall from my first NHS mammogram. It was a total shock and I was suddenly faced with lots of decisions and information about something I never thought would happen to me.

I had chemo to shrink the tumour followed by a lumpectomy. I then needed a further operation to get clear margins all round. I then had radiotherapy and am now taking Letrozole and Adcal for a 10 year period.

I understand the total devastation a Breast Cancer diagnosis brings to not only the affected person but those around them.

I’m happy to support anyone who has just been diagnosed, going through treatment or is trying to move on with their life after treatment.
