Book a Breast Cancer Now public health talk

If you'd like a public health talk, please fill in the form below. We’ll follow-up as soon as possible.

Please bear in mind that it’s usually volunteers who give these talks in their free time. While we do our best to make arrangements as quickly as possible, we normally need at least 4 weeks’ notice.

We require a minimum audience size of 30 people. We are happy to postpone your talk if you are unable to meet these numbers

If you’re looking for a general talk about the charity’s work or someone to share their personal experience of breast cancer, please request a local representative volunteer instead.

Please note, we aim to respond to requests within 5-7 working days.

About your organisation
Will the target audience for your talk be aged over 18?

Please note, due to the content covered in the presentation, our talks are not suitable for people under 18. If you'd like further information on this, please contact phvolunteer@breastcancernow.org

Will this talk be delivered to a UK audience?

We welcome talks from global organisations if they have a UK audience who'll also attend. This is because our talks cover information and messaging on breast cancer awareness and NHS breast screening services based on UK data and public health messaging.

This may differ from information in other countries and could cause unnecessary confusion to attendees. Your speaker won’t be able to answer any questions about data, guidance or health services in other countries.

Please let us know if you plan to invite anyone outside the UK to your talk, by emailing phvolunteer@breastcancernow.org and then we’ll let your speaker know.

About your talk
We ask that talks are delivered to a minimum of 15 people. This helps make the best use of our volunteers’ time.
Please can you provide brief details about the event
Is there any additional information or special requirements that might be relevant to pass on to our volunteers about your audience? For example, are there any cultural sensitivity/language needs? Will you have an interpreter?
What type of talk would you like to book?
Are a laptop, projector and screen (or suitable alternative) available for our volunteer to use so they can present a PowerPoint presentation to deliver the talk?
Do you have access to appropriate IT facilities?
We will take each in-person talk request on a case-by-case basis, depending on location and volunteer availability. Whilst we understand that COVID-19 measures are no longer a legal requirement, we ask groups and organisations who request an in-person public health talk to have measures in place that can help reduce the spread of COVID-19.
Will the talk be delivered at the same address as the one given above?
Please provide the address of the talk location
Will the talk be recorded?

We allow recordings of our public health talks where the intention is to share them internally only, for example with the hosting organisation’s staff or members.

Please obtain permission to record talks in advance from the volunteer presenter and all attendees. You'll need to obtain permission at least 2 days before the talk. Please note our policy does not allow any recordings to be shared externally to anyone outside your organisation, on websites or on social media channels. To minimise the risk of out-of-date content relating to our talks being available on external sites, please delete any recordings from all platforms within 3 months of the talk.

If we can’t arrange an in-person talk, would you like an online talk instead
You will be required to host the online public health talk on a video conferencing platform that you prefer (e.g. Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet). Please make sure you’re familiar with screen sharing and managing the chat function on your chosen platform.
Will the online talk be recorded?

We allow recordings of our online public health talks where the intention is to share them internally only, for example with the hosting organisation’s staff or members.

Please obtain permission to record talks in advance, from the volunteer presenter and all attendees. We’ll follow up with a reminder to complete this after 3 months.
