Breast cancer affects people in different ways. Using our research, we want to improve support for the physical, mental and emotional health of people with breast cancer. So that everyone living with or beyond the disease lives well.
What’s our quality of life research about?
Our researchers are working on a variety of new ways to improve support for people with breast cancer, and meet the different needs they have. These include:
- Better understanding and improving people’s experiences of breast cancer diagnosis and treatment
- Developing community programmes to help people stay healthy

Why do we need research into better support?
More people than ever before are living with or beyond breast cancer. And that number is growing because of improvements in treatment and care. We need to make sure that people can live their lives to the fullest after their diagnosis and treatment.
By investing in research, we can better meet the physical and psychological needs of everyone living with breast cancer - whatever their diagnosis and treatment.
