More people are surviving breast cancer than ever, with survival rates in the UK doubling in the last 40 years. We have research into better treatments to thank for this. But still, too many people are dying from the disease, or living with debilitating side effects. Our research could lead to new treatments that are not only more effective, but also kinder.

What’s our research into better treatments about?

Our research has one goal – stopping breast cancer in its tracks.

From finding new personalised treatments and testing innovative drug combinations. To fine-tuning existing treatments and understanding how breast cancer can become resistant to them.

And our researchers know how difficult the side effects of treatment can be. So they’re working hard to develop treatments that are not only more effective, but also kinder.

Why do we need research into better treatments?

More people are living with and beyond breast cancer than ever before. But current treatments can come with wide-ranging side effects.

This can be traumatic, painful, and emotional. Not just for those who are having the treatment, but for their loved ones too.

We’re determined to find smarter, kinder treatments, which can benefit people without robbing them of their quality of life.
