Screening Champions Group

1. Purpose of the group

  • To bring together healthcare professionals who have a passion and interest in developing their knowledge of breast screening
  • To learn and share best practice
  • To improve standards of care and service delivery for the screening population, raising awareness and encouraging uptake of those eligible for screening
  • To provide peer support in recognition of the unique challenges faced by those working in the screening sector
  • To provide network opportunities
  • To work with Breast Cancer Now's Policy and Campaigns team, to improve the screening service and uptake

2. Membership

The group is open to any healthcare professionals hub member who is a radiographer, mammographer, breast care nurse, breast care nurse practitioner or registered nurse working within screening and health promotion.

3. Benefits and opportunities of membership

  • To hear from expert speakers about topics that are pertinent to those working in screening and health promotion
  • To have the opportunity to improve service delivery in your hospital trust
  • To network with others working in similar roles
  • To have the opportunity to be an external reviewer of our health information

4. Meetings and updates

  • The group meets 2 times a year
  • The meetings include presentations and networking time
  • Attendance at meetings is voluntary
  • We send out regular email updates to the group
