What is We are Undefeatable?
We Are Undefeatable is a movement supporting people with long-term health conditions. It's been developed by 15 leading health and social care charities, including Breast Cancer Now, and is backed by their expertise and insight, as well as significant National Lottery funding from Sport England. The purpose is to support and encourage ways of being physically active that work with each person’s conditions, not against them.
For breast cancer, being physically active can help reduce your risk of developing the condition. Following a cancer diagnosis, being physically active can have a positive impact on recovery and can be beneficial in reducing recurrence.
There are a range of resources and tools available to support people to be more active, in ways that work for them on the We Are Undefeatable website.
Darlaine, who is also part of Voices network, has been featured as part of the campaign. Find out how Darlaine got moving after her bilateral mastectomy. You can find more inspiring stories on the We are Undefeatable website.
Who is the campaign for?
The campaign brings together partners who reach people living with conditions such as: arthritis, some long-term limiting mobility conditions, Alzheimer’s, asthma, back pain, cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease/lung condition, dementia, heart disease, stroke, hypertension (or other heart related conditions), long-term depression or anxiety, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s, type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
Freedom to Move
Freedom to Move is the latest campaign launched by We Are Undefeatable. Bill Bailey has teamed up with We Are Undefeatable to create a series of videos to help you embrace your #FreedomToMove and celebrate the small ways we can get moving as part of our daily routines!

What has the campaign achieved?
We Are Undefeatable reaches millions of people every year through our campaigns and partnerships, aiming to inspire people to be physically active, by sharing relatable real-life stories of people moving in a way that works for them. Recent examples include the Freedom to Move and Move to Your Mood campaigns, as well as TV partnerships with ITV’s Loose Women and Sky.
Our latest summer campaign had record-breaking reach, resulting in its highest levels of people taking action through seeing the campaign since it first launched in 2019. The campaign has encouraged people to start or re-start their physical activity journeys, increase their activity levels, or even gather more information about being more active and speaking to family and friends about it.
People look to We Are Undefeatable as a trusted source of information, inspiration, tips and resources that can enable them to be active to support them to manage their condition and symptoms.
How can I get involved?
Throughout the year, there may be opportunities to get involved with the campaign. We will promote these opportunities through the Voices network bulletin and provide more information about how to get involved.
In the meantime, you can join the movement and share your own stories of being physically active, living with breast cancer and other conditions by using #WeAreUndefeatable across social media channels and to champion the campaign with others that who may be looking to start their physical activity journey.
Previous opportunities:
- ‘Big Talk’ public consultation: You may remember we put a call-out to take part in this consultation back in September. The aim of this was to gather insights which would influence the future of the campaign. Thank you to those that took part in this consultation, we will be providing an update on this early next year
- Lived Experience Workshop - As part of the work developing the future of the campaign, the We Are Undefeatable team hosted a ‘Lived Experience Workshop’ this Summer to ensure that the voices of people with long term conditions were heard in developing the future of the campaign
