Since the Voices relaunch in October 2021, you, as Voices have contributed to over 200 opportunities, from research studies, focus groups, panels, speakers, photoshoots and more.
We’re incredibly grateful for your passion, dedication and enthusiasm to get involved and use your Voice to improve breast cancer research and support in the UK.
Our community has also grown, from just over 600 to nearly 1,000 people! It’s been amazing to watch over the past year as Voices has grown and evolved.
Over the past year our fantastic staff team, Susanna, Anna and Elliot, have worked tirelessly to make sure that being part of Voices is the best experience it can be for you all. The team has included staff from both the volunteering hub and the Involvement team. They have all done an incredible job in managing and developing Voices and sharing all of the exciting opportunities with you as well as doing other aspects of their roles.
In November 2022, the team welcomed a new member, Sarah, who has taken over the running of the Voices, and at the end of January, we said goodbye to Anna and Elliot, who we have given back to the volunteer hub!
Anna has done an incredible job every month in monitoring all of the opportunitites that come in and building the monthly bulletin to share, whilst Elliot has helped you connect with each other through developing the guest Voice section of the bulletin. Not only that though, we’ve loved Anna and Elliot being part of the team, and we’ll miss their banter, their wisdom and their support, all of which have helped make Voices what it is today.
Here's a short message from each of them to say goodbye to you all:
Although we're very sad to see Anna and Elliot go, we're so excited for the year ahead. Having Sarah onboard means that we have a dedicated member of staff working with Voices. Now, we have more time and capacity to continue to grow and develop Breast Cancer Voices to make sure that your unique and diverse voices are at the heart of what we do at Breast Cancer Now.
