Talking to children about secondary breast cancer

Patient or loved one | Secondary breast cancer

Help us develop a health information booklet to support people to talk to children about secondary breast cancer by completing an online survey about your experiences.

What’s the project about?

We are creating a new booklet about talking with children about secondary breast cancer as part of an information review.

The new booklet aims to help people affected by secondary breast cancer talk to their children about their diagnosis, prognosis and treatment.

We’d love to include some quotes from people who’ve had these conversations with their children or grandchildren, to give the booklet a more personal feel and provide readers with helpful tips.

Who’s organising it?

Name of project lead: Rachel Baxter

Job title: Health Content Editor

Organisation: Breast Cancer Now

Email address: rachel.baxter@breastcancernow.org

Who can take part?

You can take part if you've had conversations with your children, grandchildren or other children in their your about your own or someone else’s secondary breast cancer diagnosis.

Why do you want me to be involved?

Your involvement helps give our information a personal touch by adding real experiences that people can relate to and helping us share useful tips for people affected by breast cancer.

What will you ask me to do?

We’d like you to complete an anonymous online survey. It’ll ask you about your experience of talking to a child about secondary breast cancer, and about any tips or advice you’d like to share for others.
