Review different language translations of our Service Pledge surveys

Categories: Patient & Carer, Urdu, Polish, Arabic, Cantonese

Help us make sure that as many people as possible can inform how breast cancer services work by reviewing the translations of our Service Pledge survey packs.

What’s the project about?

The Service Pledge invites patients at breast cancer services to feed back about their experience of being diagnosed and having treatment. We send out surveys to patients to let give their views.

We really want to hear from people from different communities to provide evidence for a need for change across breast cancer services.

We’re translating the survey packs for the Service Pledge into 4 languages so that more people can give their feedback. The languages are:

  • Urdu
  • Polish
  • Arabic
  • Cantonese

We’d like the translations checked to ensure they’re a high standard and will be read and interpreted correctly.

Who can take part?

You can take part if you’re able to confidently read and write in any of the following languages:

  • Urdu
  • Polish
  • Arabic
  • Cantonese

Why do you want me to be involved?

It’s important we’re able to hear the experiences of different communities to help us make improve breast cancer services for everyone.

By reviewing the translations, you’ll be making sure that speakers of these languages will be more able to give their feedback about their breast cancer treatment and care.

What will you ask me to do?

We’ll send you the survey packs, which we’ve had translated by an external translation company. We’ll ask you to check that it’s easy to read and understand, and that the information is accurate.

How do I get involved?

If you’d like to get involved, please email Kim at kim.giffen@breastcancernow.org and let her know which language you’d like to review. We’ll arrange for the documents to be sent out to you either digitally or in print.

The documents are currently with the translators and we're hoping they'll be ready in the next week or so.
