Prioritising the next research study questions

A survey to share your thoughts on the most important questions to explore next in breast cancer research.

What's the project?

This survey is the second phase in a project that aims to find out what research is most needed in the field of breast cancer from a patient perspective. The aim is to design, develop and deliver a ground-breaking platform for researchers that provides evidence to potentially advance treatment for breast cancer patients.

A large variety of research questions have been identified by patients and healthcare professionals – now, the project leaders would like your views on which ones should be prioritised by breast cancer researchers.

Why do you want me to be involved?

Your feedback will help researchers prioritise the research which is most meaningful to people with breast cancer when designing studies or trials. Your views are indispensable in reaching consensus on what are the most critically important questions within breast cancer that need answering urgently.

What will you ask me to do?

We’d like to invite you to complete the online survey, which asks you to rank the different research questions by how important you think they are for researchers to answer.

The survey has 69 questions and should take around 30-45 minutes to complete.

You’ll also be asked to do the second round of the survey several weeks later. It’ll be the same survey with some extra questions that might be identified from this survey. You don’t have to complete this if you don’t want to.

It’s worth noting that as the aim of the survey is to find the best research questions for research, the survey is written in scientific language which may be hard to understand.

Who can take part?

Anyone with experience of breast cancer, whether you’ve had or have it yourself, or are a family member or carer for someone who has or had breast cancer.
