Preserving fertility after breast cancer

Categories: Women, Fertility Decisions

Help improve our health information about fertility, pregnancy and breast cancer by sharing your own experience.

What’s the project about?

We’re updating our information booklet about fertility, pregnancy and breast cancer.

We’re looking for new quotes to include in the booklet from people who have been affected by breast cancer and had to make decisions about their fertility.

We hope this will give the booklet a more personal feel and provide women reading it with helpful advice and tips from people who have been through a similar experience to them.

Who can take part?

Women who’ve had to make the decision of whether or not to try to preserve their fertility after being diagnosed with breast cancer.

Why do you want me to be involved?

Your participation will help women who are faced with the difficult decision of whether to try to preserve their fertility, and if so which options to try. This could help them feel more informed in making their decision.

Reading the thoughts, feelings and experiences of real people who have been through a similar experience will also hopefully help them feel less alone when going through this difficult time.

What will you ask me to do?

We’ll ask you to complete a short survey with questions about your experience of making decisions about fertility and where you turned for support or advice. The survey is anonymous, we'll just ask you to provide your first name, or an alternative name that you'd like to appear alongside the quote.

We understand that answering these questions could bring up difficult feelings or memories for some people, and so if you're affected in this way, please do contact our nurses via phone, email or on the forum - or you can find further information and support on our fertility and breast cancer treatment webpage.
