A chemotherapy session

Patient and carer models needed for breast cancer and healthcare photoshoot

Categories: Patients & Carers, Cheltenham, West Yorks

Could you take part in a photoshoot to help us ensure that people from all backgrounds and walks of life are represented in our photos of healthcare professionals and patients interacting in practice?

What’s the project?

Breast Cancer Now is updating the photographs we use to show healthcare professionals and patients interacting in practice.

We’ll be doing a photoshoot at several hospitals in April or May – these are likely to be Cheltenham and West Yorkshire, but there may be other locations too.

Why do you want me to be involved?

We want to ensure our website, information and communications represent the diversity of people who experience breast cancer.

We know there are groups who don’t feel as well represented and we really want to build our library of images to represent people from all walks of life. By taking part, you can help us show that as a charity we really are there for everyone.

What will you ask me to do?

Travel to one of the hospital sites that’s taking part, and be photographed interacting with healthcare professionals or other patients.

Please be assured we will be adhering to Covid-19 guidelines.

Who can take part?

We’re looking for people with a variety of experiences so we can show real people and authentically represent their experience in these images. If you’re keen to ensure people feel represented, whether that’s age, ethnicity, gender, disability or health condition, and you’re able to travel to one of the locations, then we’d love to hear from you. We may also doing photoshoots in additional locations in the future, so even if these locations aren't convenient for you, we'd still love to hear from you.

Please note, we may have to be selective based on where people live for financial reasons and to ensure we have a diverse range of people taking part.
