Join a project group which is developing a social media campaign to encourage people in London to attend their breast screening appointments.
NHS England is currently looking at how to increase breast screening uptake across London, which is historically low.
They’re looking for 2 people who’ve either used the breast screening service, or are about to for the first time, to help them design and deliver a social media marketing campaign for the London screening service. The campaign will be targeting first time invitees and communities and areas of London with low uptake of breast screening.
You can take part if you live in London and are eligible for breast screening.
The organisers want to include 2 people who’ve either accessed the service or are about to for the first time.
You don't need specific expertise with social media. If you have experience with or knowledge of health inequalities such as ethnicity, deprivation, language, religion or geography, this would be particularly helpful but not an essential requirement.
By taking part and sharing your perspective, you’ll be able to make sure that the social media campaign resonates with people who are eligible for breast screening and encourages them to go to their screening appointment.
The organisers hope that this campaign will lead to a higher uptake of screening appointments in London which, ultimately, will lead to more lives being saved.
As a group member, you’ll be asked to attend monthly 1 hour meetings with NHS England and key local stakeholders (see the attached project brief for membership of the group). These will take place on Teams during the working day. At these meetings, you’ll review and develop the proposed social media campaign to drive breast screening uptake improvement in London.
