Improving breast screening services in London

Categories: London, Breast Screening

Complete a survey to help screening services in and around London understand your experiences, and what they could improve in the future.

What’s the project about?

Anyone aged between 50 and 70 and registered with a GP as female will be invited for NHS breast screening every 3 years between the ages of 50 and 70.

Breast screening uses a test called a mammogram, which takes x-rays of the breasts. This screening can help to detect breast cancers early, when they may be too small to feel or see.

Breast screening saves the lives of about 1,300 people every year in the UK. That’s why it’s important that people feel able to attend their breast screening appointments, and that the appointments are done in a way that people feel comfortable with.

The breast screening services in London, Hertsmere, Three Rivers and Watford are wanting to understand your experiences to help shape and improve how breast cancer screening services are delivered across these areas.

Who can take part?

You can take part if you’ve had, or are eligible for, an appointment at an NHS breast screening service in:

  • London
  • Hertsmere
  • Three Rivers
  • Watford

Why do you want me to be involved?

The NHS wants to make breast screening accessible and inclusive for everyone. By sharing your experiences and feedback, you can help them understand what people need.

What will you ask me to do?

You’ll be asked to complete a short online survey. The survey us completely anonymous and should take around 10 minutes.
