Join an advisory group and help researchers develop a toolkit to enable people to prepare for cancer treatment to ensure better outcomes.
Prehabilitation (prehab) helps people to prepare for cancer treatment through helping them to eat well, be in the best possible physical condition and supporting mental health and emotional resilience. This can lead to fewer treatment complications and better recovery.
Researchers at Cardiff University are developing a toolkit called I-Prehab which will help people participate in pre-hab services and prepare for their treatment.
They want to invite anyone interested in contributing to the toolkit to join their public community group. This group will work together to help to develop the toolkit and ensure it meets the needs of different groups.
You can take part if you’re interested in contributing to the development of I-Prehab. You don’t need any experience in research, or an experience of cancer.
By being part of the public community group, you can ensure that the toolkit enables people to effectively prepare for treatment. This will ultimately lead to better outcomes for people having treatment for cancer.
The researchers are looking for people to be part of their community group, to advise on their research. You’ll advise on how the research is carried out and give feedback on findings and different documents. There’s no formal time commitment for the group.
The research continues until April 2026, but you don’t have to commit for the duration. Some activities will be paid for.
