Join the Royal Marsden’s Cancer Patients’ Voice digital platform and contribute to their research and services.
What’s the project about?
The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust and The Institute of Cancer Research together form the only National Institute of Health Research Biomedical Research Centre (NIHR BRC) dedicated specifically to cancer.
The BRC hosts the Cancer Patients’ Voice digital platform to share opportunities for people to shape services and research projects.
People can engage with the platform in different ways: adding ideas, contributing to discussion forums or filling out surveys. Engagement and involvement events, such as focus groups and workshops, are also advertised on the platform.
Who can take part?
You can join the network if you’ve had a personal diagnosis of breast cancer, or if you know or care for someone with a diagnosis.
Why do you want me to be involved?
Your experiences and insight will make sure that the Royal Marsden’s research and services are meeting the needs of people affected by breast cancer. They want to hear from people from diverse background so that their work is impactful and beneficial for everyone.
What will you ask me to do?
As part of the network, you’ll hear about opportunities to contribute your ideas and feedback in cancer research and service related projects.
The Cancer Patients’ Voice platform features projects about different cancers and general projects, for example around service design and improvements.
All projects are different, some are looking for a short engagement, others are looking for people to join one off focus groups, some will be looking for a longer term commitment, for example joining a steering group.
You can either browse the platform and look at different projects or you can register with a short registration form. If you register you’ll receive an email every time a new project is added, and you can choose to participate or not.
