Event: Here for You – an opportunity to shape its future!

Event description

Here for You is a healthcare professional referral pathway for primary and secondary breast cancer patients. We provide information about Breast Cancer Now’s support services through a personalised approach.

We’re working with across Breast Cancer Now’s teams and NHS Trusts across England to reach as many people as possible. Between August 2022 July 2023 we had 806 newly diagnosed patients referred to us… but we can do better!

We're now keen to set up a project group to help us shape our future.

Why will this be interesting for me?

At this session, you can find out more about the project group and sign up to join it. 

The project group will help us set our strategic direction and expansion of Here for You, but it’s also a hands on role. We’d like people with lived experience to be involved across all levels of Here for You- from strategic project groups to helping us recruit and train volunteers, lead on smaller projects to measure our impact and other tasks that become available in future. 

Our objectives for the project group are: 

• To support the strategic development of H4Y. 
• To shape the way H4Y is being delivered by contributing to a regular project group. 
• To support the team in the recruitment and training of H4Y volunteers and staff. 
• To contribute to focus groups, surveys, interviews and questionnaires which measure the impact of H4Y on volunteers, HCPs and service users. 

Who is it relevant for?

Ideally we’d like to recruit 3 or 4 volunteers with a recent breast cancer diagnosis (in the last 5 years) and are keen for this group to be diverse.

We also ask for a time commitment of 2 to 4 hours per month (with some additional prep time) for 6 months.
