Complete an online survey about your experience of chemotherapy and help secure funding for research which aims to develop new techniques for giving people tailored treatment dosages.
Investigation of advanced body measurement techniques for chemotherapy dose prescription in breast cancer.
Chemotherapy is a treatment for breast cancer that has existed for many years. However, the ways that chemotherapy treatment dosages are calculated may not always cater for the broad range of body types seen in modern populations.
The Morphology Research Group at Sheffield Hallam University are applying for funding research which will explore more advanced body measurement techniques which can provide oncology practitioners with improved tools for prescribing chemotherapy dosages that are valid for individuals, regardless of their body type.
They’d like to hear about your experiences of chemotherapy to ensure that the research is responding to the needs of people having this treatment, and to inform their application.
The researchers would like to hear from anyone who’s had experience of chemotherapy for breast cancer. This can be from your own diagnosis and treatment, or that of a loved one, friend, or someone you care for.
Your involvement will ensure that the research questions and planned studies are based on the real-life experiences of people like you, and that the research will have the greatest impact possible for people affected by breast cancer.
The researchers would like you to fill out an online survey to help them understand your experience of breast cancer and its treatment.
You’ll also have the chance to take part in an online interview to talk more about your experiences. This can be arranged at a time which suits you, and you can choose whether you’d like to do it via phone, Zoom or Microsoft Teams. In return for taking part in an interview you’ll receive £25, which can be paid either in cash or as an Amazon voucher
