Event description

The UK Interdisciplinary Breast Cancer Symposium (UKIBCS) is hosted by Breast Cancer Now and is the UK's premier breast cancer conference. It brings together anyone with an active interest in breast cancer research and treatment to hear from leading researchers and healthcare professionals about the latest in breast cancer research and care. 

It provides people with the opportunity to consider and discuss how the latest advances may impact upon their and others’ areas of expertise.

It’s taking place from 22 to 23 January 2024 in Birmingham and will include talks and sessions from people in all areas of breast cancer.

There are patient bursaries available for people who’ve been affected by breast cancer. This covers travel to and from the conference, and accommodation. You’ll also get to attend a welcome event on Sunday 21 January before the conference starts.

The deadline to apply for the bursary is 10am on Wednesday 18 October 2023

At this conference, you’ll get to hear the latest in breast cancer research and care from leading academics and professionals.

Topics range from new research in genetics, to health inequalities, to optimising treatment. You can read the full programme online.

There are 2 patient advocates on the organising committee to help make sure that the event is relevant, interesting and accessible for people affected by breast cancer.

Who is it relevant for?

Anyone with an interest in breast cancer research who has been personally affected by breast cancer.

People who’ve been personally affected by breast cancer can attend the event and apply for a patient bursary.
