Understanding your experience of living with Breast Cancer

Help researchers understand what kind of changes you’ve experienced in the sorts of activities you do in your daily life before, during, and after your breast cancer diagnosis.

What's the title of the project?

An exploration into the occupational identity of those living with breast cancer in the UK: a phenomenological perspective.

What's the project about?

This study is specifically looking at your lived experience and how/if there has been a change in the sort of activities you do in your daily life before, during and after your diagnosis with breast cancer and treatment.

You will be asked to describe your lived experience of before, during and after your diagnosis and treatment to the researcher. The interviews will be online and both video and audio recorded, and are estimated to last up to an hour.

The focus will be on your self-care occupations (personal care, domestic activities), leisure occupations (free time, socialising) and productive occupations (employment, household management) during these times of your life.

The research is being completed as part of an MSc in Occupational Therapy at Leeds Beckett University.

What are the criteria for taking part?

You may be eligible if you are 18+, identify as a woman, live in the UK, and have computer access. You also need to have been living with breast cancer for longer than one year.
