Help researchers explore the experience of changes in walking and mobility in people with advanced and secondary breast cancer and the people around them.
Exploring the experiences of changes in walking in people with advanced cancer
Walking and mobility issues can be a sign that people have developed secondary breast cancer. And they can also occur as a side effect of treatment for people going through treatment for primary or secondary breast cancer. However, this issue can often be overlooked.
This project explores the experiences of people with advanced (stage 3) and secondary breast cancer and their carers regarding changes in mobility.
The researchers aim to understand how these changes affect their daily lives and relationships.
Participants will have the opportunity to share their insights. And they will help contribute to a better understanding of the challenges faced by those living with advanced and secondary cancer and the people close to them.

You can take part if you:
The researchers need people like you to highlight the impact of mobility changes on individuals with advanced cancer and their carers.
By sharing your experiences, you can contribute valuable insights that may improve support for others affected by breast cancer.
And the more people that take part, the more they can understand about differences relating to things like age, gender and type of cancer.
If you choose to take part in the study, you will be asked to complete a short questionnaire and take part in 2 longer interviews.
The initial short questionnaire should take no longer than 5-10 minutes to complete. The aim of this questionnaire is to provide the researchers with information such as your age, gender and location.
The first interview will take place shortly after you’ve signed up to take part. The researchers will then invite you to a second interview as and when you notice a change in your mobility. The purpose of these interviews is to explore how changes in walking ability impact on aspects such as quality of life.
The researchers will cover any expenses, such as travel, that are caused by taking part in the study.
