Supporting carers who are diagnosed with cancer

Take part in an interview to help researchers better understand the impact of a cancer diagnosis on care givers so they can be better supported.

What’s the project about?

This project is working to better understand how a cancer diagnosis can impact carers. The researchers would like to interview 15 carers with a cancer diagnosis and 15 people who are cared for by someone with cancer.

The researchers then hope to develop a toolkit for health and social care professionals to better support caregivers with cancer.

Who can take part?

You can take part if you’re over 16 and you care for a person over the age of 16 with a physical health condition. You must also have been diagnosed with cancer in the last 2 years.

You can also take part if you’re over the age of 16 with a physical condition, and you have a carer who’s been diagnosed with cancer in the last 2 years.

Why do you want me to be involved?

By sharing your experience, you can help researchers  better understand how a cancer diagnosis can impact carers. That way, they can develop better support for caregivers who’ve been diagnosed with cancer.

What will you ask me to do?

You’ll take part in a 1 hour interview, either in person (if you live in the North West of England) or online. You can choose the time, date, and location.
