A survey exploring patients’ views on mental health support for people living with cancer in the UK.
What’s the study about?
Getting a cancer diagnosis can have an impact on your mental health.
But, mental health support for those living with cancer is sometimes not given much consideration. People with cancer are also less likely to seek specific support or treatment for mental health concerns.
This project is looking at cancer patients’ perceptions of mental health support in the UK. And how different factors, like living remotely, can affect this.
Who can take part?
You must:
- Have a diagnosis of ANY cancer, and have been diagnosed for more than 1 year
- Not currently be engaging in alcohol or drug misuse/abuse
Why do you want me to be involved?
Research like this can highlight the needs of people living with cancer that aren’t currently being addressed. If you report positive experiences with mental health services, these can be used as a guideline for developing future services.
What will you ask me to do?
You’ll fill out an online questionnaire. This should take around 15-20 minutes to complete.
You’ll also be given the option to be contacted for future follow-up studies.
