Help researchers test a weight loss programme to see if it could help reduce the risk of breast cancer coming back.

WE SURE CAN: Weight loss to SUppoRt brEast CANcer survival

What's the project about?

This research aims to understand if the risk of breast cancer coming back can be reduced with supported weight loss. This will be done by testing a weight loss programme in women diagnosed with breast cancer.

What are the criteria for taking part? 

To take part you need to have had stage 2-3 breast cancer diagnosed in the previous 24 months. You need to have a BMI between 27 and 45, be 18 years or over, and want support to lose weight. You also need to have been treated at one of the following 12 NHS recruitments hospital sites:

  • Luton & Dunstable
  • Chesterfield
  • Derby and Burton
  • St Albans
  • Medway
  • Ealing
  • Croydon
  • Royal Cornwall
  • South Tees
  • Doncaster & Bassetlaw
  • Broomfield Hospital (Mid & South Essex)
  • East Kent
