Our Someone Like Me service matches people affected by breast cancer to a trained volunteer who has experienced similar situations and concerns.
Someone Like Me is a confidential service that provides the opportunity for people to talk openly about breast cancer without worrying about the feelings of the person listening. We match people with volunteers who share their experience so that they can ask any questions they like.
As a trained Someone Like Me volunteer, you'll be matched with someone who has a similar experience to you. You'll offer them support, answer their questions, and talk through their concerns.
You'll understand the issues of the person your paired with. Whether it's concerns relating directly to cancer, treatment, or the physical and emotional impacts on any area of life.
This is a home-based role and ask you to volunteer for 1 to 2 hours per week.
We'll be recruiting for Someone Like Me volunteers in early 2025. You can register your interest by completing a registration form. Tick 'Supporting others with breast cancer' and mention Someone Like Me in the comments box. We'll be in touch when recruitment opens.
