Grab life by the balls (or boobs)!

This appointment left me numb. I heard the word ‘sinister’ and ‘chemotherapy’ and couldn’t take anything else in.

I’m living a new normal now. Do people notice I’ve got a wonky cleavage? Probably not!

Chemotherapy was like a literal burning away of the old me – burnt to ashes, only to rise again, phoenix-like.

I made the decision to stick a finger up at breast cancer the day I was diagnosed.

I feel I can do anything! I’m so proud of myself and who I am.

I have such a desire and passion to live the most amazing life, and spend every moment with the people I love.

I try not to waste energy and worry about things I can't change. Yes, it’s hard waiting for scan results, but I’ve seen a lot of improvements in treatments in the last 8 years.

Because I'm relatively young, because I’m black, and because I'm a nurse – cancer doesn't look like me.

Overall, breast cancer has reshaped my life, instilling in me an even deeper sense of gratitude, resilience, and purpose.

I’m working on loving my new body – lopsided scars and all!

Secondary breast cancer broke my bones, but it will not break my soul!

I’m 72 now, but still want to do something exciting, something a bit daring, something to make my children and grandchildren proud.

I've been surprised by the amount of men that said they didn't even know men could get it.

I think it is important to show that breast cancer affects people at all ages.

Everyone has a different journey. There is no right or wrong way to feel.
