Payroll giving

Find out about payroll giving. It's an easy way to give regular support to our charity.

Around 55,000 women and 400 men are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in the UK. These figures are higher than ever.

But with a gift through your payroll, you can help us continue looking for ways to prevent and treat breast cancer for future generations.

What is payroll giving?

Payroll giving, sometimes called "give as you earn", is a really easy way to give regular support to Breast Cancer Now.

Donations from your payslip are made before tax. This means money that would normally go to HM Revenue & Customs is given to the charity instead – so your gift could be worth up to 40% more.

Sign up for payroll giving today.

How does payroll giving work?

Because payroll donations are taken from your gross pay, every pound you give will only cost you 80p, or only 60p if you're a higher-rate tax payer.

Examples of how giving through your salary can really add up

  • Your monthly donation: £5

    We receive (if you're a 20% taxpayer): £6.25
    We receive (if you're a 40% taxpayer*): £8.33
    We receive (if you're a 45% taxpayer*): £9.09

  • Your monthly donation: £10

    We receive (if you're a 20% taxpayer): £12.50
    We receive (if you're a 40% taxpayer*): £16.67
    We receive (if you're a 45% taxpayer*): £18.18

  • Your monthly donation: £15

    We receive (if you're a 20% taxpayer): £18.25
    We receive (if you're a 40% taxpayer*): £24.99
    We receive (if you're a 45% taxpayer*): £27.27

  • Your monthly donation: £20

    We receive (if you're a 20% taxpayer): £25
    We receive (if you're a 40% taxpayer*): £33.32
    We receive (if you're a 45% taxpayer*): £36.36

Please note

*In the above examples, we've calculated that the 40% higher rate tax band starts after earning £41,450 GROSS per year (including personal allowance of £9,440) and 45% super tax is applicable to those earning over £150,000 GROSS per year (this includes any and all personal allowances that might or might not be applicable).
