A Breast Cancer Now volunteer chats to another lady at a countryside fair, in front of a charity stall branded with the 'sponsor a nurse' wording. The stall is coloured pink. They're standing on green grass.

Face-to-face fundraising

Find out about our face-to-face fundraising and where we're fundraising this week.

1. Where are we fundraising this week?

Our fundraisers' locations are subject to last-minute changes and occasionally they can cross over into different postcode areas.

If you come across fundraisers in an area that isn't on the list, please don't assume that they aren't legitimate.

If you do have concerns or you'd like reassurance of any fundraising activity you may see, please contact our supporter care team on hello@breastcancernow.org or telephone us on 0333 20 70 300 and we'll be happy to answer any questions.

Download the site list for the coming week to find out if our fundraising agencies are working in your local area.

2. How do we fundraise?

Door-to-door fundraisers

Door-to-door fundraising is one of the most effective ways of recruiting supporters for us. Our door-to-door fundraisers knock on doors around the country to speak to people about our world-class research and life-changing care. And they ask people if they can give a regular gift.

We work with door-to-door fundraisers for both regular giving and our Pink Ribbon Lottery.

Private site fundraisers

Our private site fundraisers speak to members of the public about us in private sites, like shopping centres and train stations. And they encourage them to sign up to make a regular donation to our work.

Our private site fundraisers work with us for both regular giving and our Pink Ribbon Lottery.

3. Our fundraising partners

We partner with professional fundraising agencies who conduct face-to-face fundraising on our behalf. Please find details of these agencies below.

4. Frequently asked questions

  • Why do you use face-to-face fundraising?

Face-to-face fundraising is an effective way to engage with the public and tell them about our work. And it gives them the opportunity to set up a regular donation.

The majority of our regular givers are signed up through our professional face-to-face fundraisers.

Their donations provide regular, reliable income that allows us to plan for the future, and help those affected by breast cancer right now.

  • How do I know if a fundraiser is legitimate?

All our fundraisers should be wearing branded clothing and an ID badge.

You can check if we’re fundraising in your area using our fundraising locations document. If you do come across fundraisers in an area not listed, please don’t assume they aren’t legitimate.

If you have any concerns, feel free to contact our supporter care team with the location details to check our latest site listings.

  • Why do you fundraise after 8pm?

We allow our fundraisers to work until 8.30pm, throughout the year.

We find more people are at home in the evenings, and not busy with work, so it’s a great time to have a chat about our work.

  • Are your fundraisers and fundraising agencies paid?

Yes. We believe it’s only fair our fundraisers are paid for the valuable work they do for us, and our fundraisers’ pay is dependent on the policies of the fundraising partners we work with.

You can find more information about this on each of the agencies’ websites listed on this page.

  • Who is calling me?

After you’ve signed up for a regular gift then you’ll receive a welcome call to confirm your details.

If you signed up through Appco, Britevox or Charity Link, a telemarketing agency called NTT will be in touch. If you signed up through Unique or Gather then they’ll be in touch directly.

We work closely with Ethicall, a telemarketing agency, to help fulfil our telephone fundraising.

Telephone fundraising is a really effective way for us to raise essential funds to support our life-changing care and world-class research.

We provide full training and monitor our agencies regularly. Ethicall will call on their centralised number: 0117 325 4308.

We're also working closely with Angel, a telemarketing agency that is helping us fulfil our inbound and outbound calling for our television ad during Breast Cancer Awareness month.

They’ll be calling to help set up your regular gift. Their number is 0203 455 2936.

  • How do I cancel or change my donation set up with a fundraiser?

You can email us at hello@breastcancernow.org with your name, postcode and donation reference.

If you’ve recently signed up with a fundraiser, please include the date and location of sign up too.
