Our top tips for your sponsored walk
- Pick a date: Setting a date means you can start training and asking for donations. Once you have a date, let us know, so we can make sure you have everything you need
- Choose your route: Think about the distance you’d like to do and where you want to walk. If you’re walking as a team, choose a route that’s suitable for everyone. Remember – you’ll need permission if you want to walk through privately owned land
- Create a JustGiving page: JustGiving pages are a quick and easy way for people to donate and all the money comes straight to Breast Cancer Now. Read our guide to creating a JustGiving page to find out more
- Get kitted out: We recommend some good walking shoes and plenty of snacks and water. And because the British weather can be unpredictable, don’t forget your sun cream, a hat, and some waterproofs
- Add a touch of pink: Maybe you’d like a Breast Cancer Now T-shirt to wear? Or some balloons and banners for when you cross the finish line? If there’s anything you need, just get in touch
- Keep on track: Strava is a free app which tracks your distance in real time – you can even link it to your JustGiving page. You could also track your progress using our downloadable step tracker
Before you get started
Make sure to read the legal information on fundraisers. It contains lots of important information you’ll need to know before you set out on making your event a reality.
