My Story podcast: Catherine

On this episode of the My Story podcast, we chat to one of our clinical specialist nurses, Catherine. She gives us her perspective on being a breast care nurse.

However busy we are, we always have time

Catherine was inspired to go into nursing after hearing her sister-in-law, also a nurse, talk about how much she enjoyed her job. She later specialised in secondary breast cancer care after losing her step-father to cancer, and learning that both he and her mum felt supported by one particular nurse.

For International Nurses Day, we wanted to recognise the hard work and dedication of our nursing team, and Catherine is just one of many brilliant nurses who work with us at Breast Cancer Now.

Tune in to hear about Catherine's perspective on working with breast cancer patients, learn more about the role of breast care nurses. And find out just a few of the ways that our nurses are here for people who need our support.

It’s important that people know we are there, because it's important that the whole organisation is trusted. Ultimately, we want people to come to us, to our services and our information, because that's how we can best support them.
