I hosted an Afternoon Tea to support anyone affected by breast cancer

After a close friend was diagnosed with breast cancer, Inderjit decided to support Breast Cancer Now and host her first Afternoon Tea.

I’ve had friends who have been diagnosed with breast cancer

After seeing an advert for Breast Cancer Now’s Afternoon Tea campaign, I decided I wanted to take part and help make a difference.

Over the past few years, I’ve had friends who have unfortunately been diagnosed with breast cancer, but it really hit home when a dear friend who I have known for over 25 years was diagnosed.

Last year was my first time hosting an Afternoon Tea and I was blessed to have a local college provide the venue free of charge! Local businesses provided raffle prizes, drinks and even food including samosas, cakes and pizzas.

Everyone came together to show amazing support

My wonderful family and friends were an amazing support on the day with helping, it was amazing to see everyone come together and we all had a great afternoon!

I’ve already started planning my Afternoon Tea for this year! I’m really looking forward to hosting another event and I know my guests will be excited, as they’ve been asking me when the next one is!

A note from the Afternoon Tea Ladies

It’s important to remember that Afternoon Teas will have to look quite different this year and hosting an event like Inderjit’s might not be possible.

But that doesn’t mean they won’t be hugely impactful! When planning your tea, please follow the most up to date government guidance to keep you and your guests safe.
