A new report published today by Macmillan Cancer Support and the Department of Health has called for better support for the increasing number of people living with cancer.
The report – called Living with and beyond cancer: taking actions to improve outcomes – calls for cancer patients to be given comprehensive emotional and social care support in addition to their medical treatment.
Commenting on the report Breast Cancer Care’s Chief Executive Samia al Qadhi said: ‘As the leading UK breast cancer support charity we understand that the need for care doesn’t end when treatment finishes and we’ve designed targeted services to address the issues people face after treatment for breast cancer.’
