I am proud to announce that Second Hope has become part of Breast Cancer Now.
Right now, with everything that is happening in the world, we know that people affected by secondary breast cancer need us more than ever. And it is an honour to be chosen by Second Hope to take the charity’s objectives forward – and to preserve and continue the legacy of your founder, Julie Phillips.
I want to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to the former Trustees of Second Hope, who have given so much love, time and dedication over the past five years to Second Hope. Being able to create something so powerful, and impactful, by volunteering your own time is an incredible achievement that we admire greatly.
And to everyone who has supported Second Hope, I want to welcome you to the Breast Cancer Now family. As the new sole Trustee of Second Hope, Breast Cancer Now aims to ensure that Julie’s legacy will live on and I can assure you, as Second Hope’s supporters, that the money you continue to raise and donate to Second Hope through Breast Cancer Now will be only be used to fund world-class research into secondary breast cancer.
At Breast Cancer Now we are determined to make sure anyone with secondary breast cancer can live life – and live well for as long as possible. And you will play a part in helping us to achieve that. By continuing to raise money for Second Hope through Breast Cancer Now you will help to fund world-class secondary breast cancer research that will look at how breast cancer spreads through the body, how secondary tumours form and why the body's immune system doesn't attack the breast cancer cells as they spread.
